She finally managed to escape the system with a Bachelor's Degree in English and a minor in Art.
While in Central Texas, she met David Wheeler, married, and temporarily settled in the Austin area (Dripping Springs, Taylor, Dale). She has raised horses, cattle, sheep and goats, taught spinning, weaving, knitting and natural dyes.
At some point in all this running about, David asked if Tara would be so good as to paint some signs for his business (Dragon's Lair Comics) and she painted a mural, the sail of a Viking ship (for the Austin 'Anything That Will Float But a Boat Race held on Town Lake) and several signs.
This reminded Tara of how much fun it was to push paint, and she officially picked up the brushes again in June of 2007.
On January 1st, 2008, Tara began the practice of doing one painting a day and posting it on her blog.
In March, 2008, she and David moved to New Mexico to escape the Austin allergies and to allow Tara to pursue painting full time.
